The natural flood management measures we implemented last year at a site in the upper caundle brook have been working well. This enhanced pond not only now holds more water (reducing the amount in the river) but also has wider biodiversity benefits. With water being stored in larger quantities and for a longer period of time, it creates new habitats and the biodiversity this brings. The landowner has reported seeing frogs spawn for the first time in a few years!
