Last week the YRCT team and our hardworking volunteers turned out for a morning at Alvington Pond to tackle some Typha, aka Bulrush or Reedmace.
It's a fantastic species but over the last year it's started spreading across the pond a little too well and we made the decision to remove a patch to keep it under control. ![]()
We are keen to ensure that other marginal and aquatic species have a chance of flourishing at the pond too and hopefully, our maintenance will help enable this next year.
A big thanks to everyone who helped! ![]()
