As the drought came to an end, we were back at Oak Tree Park with learners from Able 2 Achieve who helped us plant a selection of marginal aquatic plants.
Planted in the scrapes we dug earlier in the summer are a variety of native species, including flowering rush, yellow flag iris, tussock sedge and reed canary grass. These scrapes should retain water for longer in the year, allowing for the plants to flourish and bring more diversity to this unique habitat.
